BELIZE CITY, Mon. Nov. 25, 2024

The Brown Bombers and Caye Caulker Veterans enjoyed big wins when the Esteban Mahler Over-40 tournament, organized by the Belize District Football Association (BDFA), continued in its 4th week at the Berger Field in Belize City on Saturday evening, November 23.

In Game 1, the Belize Defence Force Veterans struggled to a 3-3 draw with Kulture Yabra, for whom Steve “Gellies” Young (9’) struck the first goal. Michael Martinez (19’) equalized for BDF, and Victor “Wapio” Nunez (31’) gave the soldiers a 2-1 lead. Jerome “Jaro” James (40’) and Christopher Guild (50’) regained Yabra’s lead, 3-2, until Martinez (56’) equalized: 3-3 final.

In Game 2, the Caye Caulker Veterans schooled the Survivors, 3-0, led by Sanja Pitts’ brace (40’ & 58’) and a goal by Mark “Kelo” Leslie (3’).

In Game 3, the Brown Bombers bombed Berger United, 5-1, led by Leon “Chow” Cadle’s brace (45’ & 56’), with other goals from Bruce Carrillo (13’), Paul Woods (47’) and Kenroy Martin (50’). Only Denver Skeet (10’) scored for Berger United.
