SAN IGNACIO, Wed. Aug. 26, 2020– Bryan Navid Guzman, 20, a laborer of Hillview, Santa Elena, who allegedly shot a taxi driver during an attempted robbery of the cab driver, has been remanded until October 29 on charges of attempted murder and attempted robbery.

The cab driver, Jerison Ramirez, 21, of Bullet Tree Falls, has since been released from the San Ignacio Community Hospital.

The incident occurred at about 9:00 Monday night near the New Bridge in Santa Elena. Ramirez engaged in a struggle with the robber, during which he was shot, but he was able to disarm the robber, who then got away.

An investigation by police led to Bryan Navid Guzman of Hillview, Santa Elena. Police said that a further investigation is being carried out into the origin of the firearm, for which additional charges will be brought against him.
