BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Apr. 11, 2019– Good afternoon, Football Family!
The 3rd Annual City Boys 10 & Under Grassroots Football Tournament 2019 semifinals were held this past Saturday, April 6, at the Cumberbatch Field; and if you missed those exciting semifinals, you don’t want to miss the championship final this coming Saturday, April 13.
In the first semifinal on Saturday, City Boys Jr. clipped Poor & Famous, 2-0, with Esmond Sanker, Jr. scoring both goals for City Boys.
The other semifinal was deadlocked at 1-1 in regular time between Reality Youths FC and Belize United FC. Lemar Smith rocked the net for Reality Youths, while Barrack Morey hit the target for Belize United. Both teams played to a nil-nil draw after two 5-minute periods of extra time; so it was on to the penalty shootout, where Reality Youths prevailed, 3-2, over Belize United.
The championship final will be at Cumberbatch Field this Saturday.
Saturday, April 13
1:00 p.m. – (3rd Place Game) Belize United FC vs Poor & Famous
2:00 p.m. – (Championship Game) City Boys Jr. vs Reality Youths FC
Trophies and medals will be given out immediately after the championship game.
