BELIZE CITY—The BDBA (Belize District Basketball Association) Firms Competition opened its best-of-3 games championship Finals series on Friday night, August 22, at Bird’s Isle, where Complex Admirals took Game 1 of the series by a 73-63 margin over Belize Bank Ltd./Airport Authority.
Belize Bank/Airport jumped out to an early 9-4 lead, but by the end of the first quarter, Complex had taken a 15-11 lead. Complex increased the lead to a 10-point margin, 34-24, by half-time; and they maintained the lead until the finish, winning by 10 points, 73-63, to take game 1 of the series.
Top scorers for Complex “Admirals” were Wilfred Richards 26 pts 6 rebs 4 assts, Rhetton Belisle 20 pts 6 rebs, and Cassian Flowers 12 pts 6 rebs; while Belize Bank/Airport had Chris McGann with 18 pts 13 rebs, Terrique Gabb 18 pts 6 rebs 3 assts, and Dominique Guzman 12 pts.
Game 2 of the Finals will tip off on Friday, August, 29, at 9:00 p.m. Game 3, if needed, will be played the following day, Saturday, August 30.
