COROZAL TOWN, Mon. Aug. 26, 2019– On Saturday, August 24, we hosted a Basketball Quadrangular in Corozal Town at the Civic Center, starting at 10:00 a.m. and finishing at 4:30 p.m.
Participating teams were:Â Cayo Sacred Heart, Orange Walk Rebels, Corozal, and University of Uqroo (Chetumal).
In game one, Sacred Heart Cayo defeated Orange Walk, 37-27.
Game 2 saw Corozal defeating University of Uqroo, 51-26.
Sacred Heart Cayo and Corozal thus advanced to the game 3 final; and in the final game, Sacred Heart Cayo defeated Corozal, 47-41, for the championship.
I would like to thank all teams for participating in the Quadrangular, and Mr. Pablo Marin for sponsoring the trophies for 1st and 2nd place, and Thank You also to Mayor Rigo for his donation of uniforms to the Corozal basketball team. Thank You also to Corozal Sports Council for letting us use the Civic Center, and to the Corozal Basketball Association for helping to keep our youths active in basketball programs.
