BELIZE CITY, Tues. Mar. 30, 2021– Today the government of Belize announced that the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines allocated by the COVAX facility will arrive in the country of Belize on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

The arrival of the vaccines from the COVAX facility will occur at just the right time to ensure that the vaccination rollout plan in the country continues as scheduled.

During an interview last month, Dr. Natalia Beer said that around 35,000 to 40,000 vaccines may arrive in the country in the first instance. The official number of doses sent from COVAX will be announced tomorrow at a scheduled arrival ceremony.

The vaccines are expected to arrive at the Philip Goldson International Airport by 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
