Cricket Corner – Excellence, winner of the T/20

SportsCricket Corner – Excellence, winner of the T/20

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Feb. 9, 2015–The T/20 finals were held over the weekend, with Excellence as the winner in the first game. Western Eagles defeated Easy Does It with 101 all out to 102 with 8 wickets to spare. Easy Does It went to bat first and batted 101. Warren Anthony top scored with 44 runs, followed by Sherman Smith with 22. Western Eagles made 102 with 8 spare wickets. Conway Young top scored for Western Eagles with 51 runs, followed by Andrew Banner with 27.

In second and final game, Western Eagles lost to Excellence 137 to 55 all out. Excellence took to bat first and scored 137 runs. Keenan Flowers top scored with 39 runs and Orson Flowers 21. Kevi Flowers and Jermaine Look took 5 and 3 wickets, respectively for Western Eagles. For Western Eagles, they scored 55 runs only. Dirk Sutherland top scored with 19 runs. Percy Flowers took 3 wickets for Excellence.

Congrats to the winners, Excellence first and Western Eagles second. A big Thank You goes out to all teams that participated, and the fans that came out for the two weekends.

The Belize national cricket competition continues this weekend with the Harrison Parks Cricket Competition.

In Zone 1 – Western Eagles vs Excelsior in Rancho Dolores; Easy Does It vs Isabella Uprising at Isabella Bank; and Excellence vs Bright Star at Double Head Cabbage.

And in Zone 2 – Wicked 11 vs Brave Union at Burrell Boom; Sugar Boys vs Brilliant at Crooked Tree; Cashu Medicos vs Sunrise at Lords Bank; and Berlan vs Police in Belmopan.
