A driver for the Customs Department’s Benedict Palacio, one Michael Cain, is listed as stable at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was unexpectedly stabbed this morning near his workplace.
Sometime before 9:00 a.m. today, a man claiming to be a former driver of Palacio’s, who had been fired last week, approached Cain.
The man and Cain began an argument, which quickly turned physical and ended in Cain being stabbed as many as eight times in the back and chest.
Cain was rushed to the KHMH and underwent immediate surgery, following which his condition improved.
Palacio, our sources say, denies knowledge of the attacker and says he has no idea why anyone would stab his driver, who has been driving for him for the last two years.
Police have received a report of the incident and are now looking for Cain’s attacker.
