DANGRIGA, Wed. Feb. 10, 2016–Volleyball: The John “Tequila” Chimilio Interoffice Volleyball Tournament in Dangriga is into its 3-game series finals between Big Creek and CPBL. In game 1, Big Creek won over CPBL. Game 2 was last night at Ecumenical auditorium, where CPBL came back and won game 2 in 3 sets, 24-26, 25-20, 16-14. The big finals come up next week Tuesday night, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. at Ecumenical auditorium.

High school softball: Secondary school softball for the Dangriga Zone will commencea today, Wednesday, February 10. Dangriga Zone secondary school softball will only be between Ecumenical and Delille Academy males and females, which will be a 5-game series, since ANRI doesn’t have any softball team.

Football: The Rodwell Ferguson football finals, that were supposed to play over the weekend at the Pomona New Site football field, were postponed until this Sunday, February 14. So, coming up this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. will be the third place match-up – Silk Grass Southern Strikers vs Pomona Warriors; and at 3:30 p.m. it will be the championship final – Valley Pride Rookies vs Santa Cruz L.D. South Rock.

NEBL: This Friday night at the Ecumenical basketball auditorium will be a big match-up. Back-to-back defending champions San Pedro Tiger Sharks, who came off a loss over the weekend, will be in Dangriga to take on the young and talented home team, Dangriga Warriors, who are coming off two big victories over the weekend at home.

Gate opens at 8:00 p.m. Tip-off time is set for 9:00 p.m.

Halftime give aways; half-court shot for a $100.00.

Entrance fee – adults $7.00; high schools students with id – $5.00.

Dangriga Boys & Girls U-15: Week 2 games in the Dangriga Boys & Girls U-15 football tournament, sponsored by the Stann Creek Football Association, were played on Sunday, February 7, at the Ecumenical football field. In game 1, Wagiya and Pomona Sliders ended up in a nil-nil tie. In game 2, Umadagu and Pomona Roots also ended up in a 1-1 tie. Tyra Trapp scored for Umadagu, while Tyler Peters scored for Pomona Roots. Game 3 saw Montise winning over Hope Creek, 2-nil, both goals coming from Rashawn Middleton. And in game 4, it was Hopkins over Umadagu, 2 goals to 1. Norman Castillo and Ellis Sanchez hit the target for Hopkins, while Umadagu’s goal came from Deneal Flores.

Week 3 continues this Sunday.

Dangriga Boys & Girls U-13: Week 2 games in the Dangriga Boys & Girls U-13 football tournament, sponsored by the Dangriga Cancer Centre, were also played on Sunday, February 7. In game 1, New Site and Umadagu ended up in a nil-nil tie. In game 2, Hope Creek won over Hopkins Esanigu, 2-1. Game 3 saw Wagierale edging Montise, 1-nil, on a goal by Fabian Martinez, Jr. In game 4, it was Pomona Roots winning over Benguche, also by a 1-nil score, with the goal coming from Adon Nunez. And in game 5, Silk Grass clipped Hopkins, 2-nil, with a goal each from Donald Enriquez and Alex Alvarez.
