BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 3, 2022

The body of Ladyville resident, Randy Pollard, 19, was found sometime after 6:00 o’clock on Sunday morning, October 2, on the John Smith Road on the outskirts of Belize City following a road traffic accident, which may have occurred sometime during the previous night.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw Pollard’s motionless body on the side of the road, and beside him was his motorcycle, which he had purchased about a month ago. The family of Pollard identified him sometime after 5:00 on Sunday evening.

Police are currently carrying out an investigation to determine whether Pollard was hit by an oncoming vehicle or lost control of his motorcycle.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, communications director of the Police Department, told local reporters, however, that a post-mortem examination will be carried out on Pollard’s body to determine whether foul play might have led to his death.
