All four men, residents of Belmopan, were charged with the murder of Allison Castillo, 32, also of Belmopan, which occurred two years ago on June 4, 2003 outside a nightclub in Belmopan. Dennis and Russell Hyde, and Delvin Galvez had initially been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, but all the charges of all three were upgraded to murder on Thursday, December 1.

Castillo was stabbed to death after he allegedly requested Clifford to remove his vehicle so that he could pass in his vehicle.

Clifford Hyde, 25 and Russell, 35, who had been represented in the trial by Ellis Arnold and Dickie Bradley respectively, were found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.

The other two accused, Dennis, 20, and Delvin, 21, both represented by attorney Lutchman Sukhnandan, were both able to walk out of court as free men after they were found not guilty of both charges, murder and manslaughter.

The trial began the day following the upgrading of charges for Dennis, Delvin, and Russell, which was Friday, December 2, in the Supreme Court #2 before Justice John ?Troadio? Gonzalez.

Among many witnesses who testified at the trial were four eyewitnesses and the arresting officer, the investigating officer, a doctor, a relative who identified the body at the post-mortem.

Cheryl-Lynn Branker Taitt represented the prosecution.

Sentencing is expected to be handed down on Friday, December 30.
