FFB reiterates its position on Darnel Mossiah’s Ban

SportsFFB reiterates its position on Darnel Mossiah’s Ban

BELMOPAN, Wed. Nov. 17, 2021 — The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) was made aware of a post on social media whereby Darnel Mossiah, an individual who was banned from entering all National Sports Council stadiums, was participating in our Corozal Football Association football tournament. The five-year ban against Mossiah by the National Sports Council (NSC) was supported by the FFB in our press release dated August 13, 2018, which reiterated our position regarding referee official Ms. Yuri Daniels.

Mr. Mossiah has been removed from playing in the Corozal Football Association Amateur Tournament with immediate effect and is to continue serving his ban.

The Federation takes this opportunity to remind the general public that RESPECT is a great part of our game.

– press release –

(AMANDALA Sports Ed. Note: The above release is in connection with an incident at a football match where the then referee, Ms. Yuri Daniels, was physically assaulted and seriously injured by a disgruntled player. This is perhaps the first time we at this sports desk are noting a ban for gravely unsportsmanlike behavior being carried through. Many players have been banned before for assaulting officials, but quickly everything has been forgotten, and the offending player is back playing again after a few months. This may finally be an example for hot-headed players in the future to consider. Respect!)
