FFB Youth Inter-District Tournaments update; Male U-15 and U-17 Finals set for September 28

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Sept. 12, 2019– The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) Female U-15 and U-17 tournaments have entered their playoff stage, while the Male U-15 and U-17 tournaments have reached their Finals, which are scheduled to be held at the FFB Stadium on September 28.

Female U-15 Inter-District Week 12

Saturday, September 7 playoff results

At the FFB Stadium, Belmopan crushed Toledo, 8-2, with goals from Joanna Leiva (4’), Roshanny Navaez (8’, 41’ & 48’), Marjorie Sanchez (10’) and Janelle Diaz (26’, 39’ & 44’); while both goals for Toledo were by Karel Avila (15’ & 19’).

At the People’s Stadium, Orange Walk clipped Cayo, 1-0, on a goal by Josefin Reyes (52’).

 Here at the MCC Grounds, visiting Stann Creek bombed Belize, 9-0, with goals from Shendra Casimiro (14’), Shamika Lambey (22’ & 40’), Cenia Apolonio (29’), Jessie McLaughlin (37’) and Khalydia Velasquez (49’ & 64’), and also benefited from own goals by Belize’s Alexia Estell (38’ OG) and Amberlin Dawson (48’ OG).

And at Ricalde Stadium in Corozal, it was visiting Independence, 2-0, over Corozal, with a goal each from Michelle Estero (2’) and Kenya Perez (25’).

Saturday, September 7, League Stage results

At the Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Orange Walk prevailed, 4-3, over Belmopan. Orange Walk got 2 goals apiece from Allison Torres (3’ & 35’) and Zamir Bonilla (21’ & 66’); while Belmopan goals were by Genadi Castillo (4’ & 44’) and Dylon Gongora (57’).

Female U-17 Inter-District Week 12

Saturday, September 7 playoff results

At the Carl Ramos Stadium, it was a 3-3 draw between Belize and Stann Creek. Belize goals were by Shantae Chacon (2’ PK) and Carlene Tillett (64’ & 69’), while Stann Creek got goals from Jaelin Cacho (41’ & 60’) and Antonette Marin (52’).

At People’s Stadium in Orange Walk, Toledo dropped Orange Walk, 1-nil, on a late goal by Esmeralda Rash (90’).

At Ricalde Stadium, the home team Corozal shut out Benque, 8-0, with goals from Vanelly Santoya (2’, 14’ & 25’), Dianira Lopez (10’), Ninel Cano (11’), Darina Tzul (44’ & 47’) and Citlaly Morales  (80’).

At Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Belmopan beat Mid-South, 8-1, with goals from Ashley Rodriguez (3’ & 68’), Stephanie Barrientos (27’), Briah Ho (31’ & 75’), Roshanny Navaez (36’) and Oddy Aguilar (39’ & 50’); while the sole tally for Mid-South was by Avelia McKenzie (63’).

And at the Norman Broaster Stadium, it was home team Cayo, 1-0, over San Pedro, on a goal by Florine Vasquez (34’).

At the M.A. Stadium in Independence, it was visiting Belize, 2-1, over Mid-South with a goal each from Eshak King and Reuben Galvez, while Jordan Apolonio scored for Mid-South.
