Former minister of government Santino Castillo was in a cycling accident in the south of the country in the Garifuna Classic in Dangriga. He escaped without any life threatening injuries but not with out broken bones and some stitches.

He wrote “ About 5 of us went down with about 20 miles remaining and I got the brunt of it on that hard grater pavement. My Mother has been begging me to retire from this Sport for years and I ask her forgiveness; but I can’t. At least not yet, not yet. I will from heal and come back stronger. In closing I want to thank the Ambulance attendants, Dr. Wright and the nurses at the Dangriga Hospital.“
