Gas station in Sandhill robbed for the 2nd – and last time

GeneralGas station in Sandhill robbed for the 2nd - and last time
Mrs. Ging Wang, owner of a gas station at Mile16 on the Northern Highway, was once again a victim of robbery in the Sandhill area.

The gas attendant that was on his shift reported to police that at 9:30 a.m. last Thursday, February 18, a man of Creole descent entered the establishment and ordered an item and was served.

He then returned and ordered another item and while being served, the person pulled out a handgun and pointed it at another gas attendant and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.

The assailant then forced both attendants and the cashier on duty into a bedroom at the back of the grocery shelves, and then tied them up with duct tape.

When all employees were under control, the man then took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer, two cell phones, a house phone, a pack of cigarettes, several pieces of jewelry, and an assortment of liquor.  He damaged a Semko brand computer and then fled the scene with his booty.

Since this is the second time that the establishment has been robbed, Mrs. Wang has closed down the gas station and is in the process of selling. She has already hired a realtor to assess the property’s worth, and is not living there anymore.

The Ladyville Police Department, through quick police work, has detained a person in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, customers are now forced to drive a bit further to get fuel from another gas station located all the way in Ladyville or turn off in the Burrell Boom road and drive aproximately one and a half miles to get gas.
