GeneralHattieville residents busted with 11 pounds of compressed weed

PATCHAKAN, Corozal District, Mon. Oct. 22, 2018-  At about 10:00 Friday morning, Deon Arnold, 29; Ian Young 19; and Alex Lewis, 29, all residents of Hattieville, were busted with 11 pounds of compressed cannabis on the Patchakan road in the Corozal District. They were arrested and charged jointly with drug trafficking.

On Friday afternoon, they were all taken to the Corozal Magistrate’s Court, where they were offered bail of $5,000 each and a surety of the same amount, but they were unable to meet bail and they were all remanded until November 28, when they are to return to court.

Police said that they were patrolling the Patchakan road when they saw a Toyota 4Runner, and someone from inside the vehicle threw out a bag when they saw police approaching. The vehicle was stopped and the three men traveling in the vehicle were taken out and taken back to where the bag had landed.

When the bag was opened in front of the three men, 5 packages were found and when the packages were opened, compressed cannabis was found in them.

Police immediately arrested and charged the three men. When the drug was weighed, it amounted to 11 pounds.
