HRCU’s Aleesha Taylor scored 3 runs vs BEL Powersockets

The Holy Redeemer Credit Union (HRCU) Eagles are leading the 2025 Belize City Interoffice Softball Competition, while the Digi Hitters, Bowen & Bowen Brewers, Belize Tax Service (BTS) Kollectaz, and the Education Sheriffs also enjoyed big wins when the tournament continued with 6 games at the Rogers Stadium in Belize City from Friday to Sunday, February 28 – March 2.
On Friday evening, the Education Sheriffs schooled the Ministry of Education (MOE), 14-4, by Mercy Rule, as they collected 14 runs off Mushae McDonald’s pitching. Herman Ramos, Neisha Chun, Earl Noralez, Linton Broaster and Sherraine Sutherland each scored 2 runs, while Giovanni Moody and Shaquille Moody each scored once. The Sheriffs’ pitcher, Claudette Williams, and her relief, Herman Ramos, allowed only 4 runs, as McDonald, Hiram Cadogan, Andrea Dawson and Akeem Anderson scored a run each for MOE.
On Saturday afternoon, the HRCU Eagles enjoyed their 2nd win of the season, 25-3, over the Health Heartbreakers, as they hammered out 25 runs off Jacqueline Williams’ pitching. Darren Leal and Dylan Moguel led the Eagles’ attack, each crossing the plate 4 times, while Reynaldo Duran, Rashid Bethran and Veleesha Taylor each scored 3 runs. Aleesha Taylor and Matthew Castellanos each scored twice, and Sherlett Barrow and Rajib Ramsey crossed the plate once. HRCU pitcher Ashli Habet allowed only 3 runs, as only Neil Nicholson, Keiron James and Enaiem Dominguez scored for Health.
In Game 2 on Saturday, the B&B Brewers pumped up a 19-17 win over the Belize Water Services (BWS), led by Alex Ellis and Roni Montejo scoring 4 runs apiece. Pitcher Rhoda Lu crossed the plate thrice, David Vasquez and Aaron Meighan scored 2 runs apiece, and Sean Reneau, Nathashia Ferguson, Karina Hernandez and Patricia Barillas each crossed the plate once for the Brewers. BWS pitcher Sherese Bernardez led the counterattack, scoring 4 runs, and Conway Galvez and Glen Crawford scored 3 runs each. Jeovanni Casimiro and Marlon Bennett scored 2 runs each, and Amany Peters, Shemar Rowley and Young scored a run apiece.
In Saturday’s nightcap, the Digi Hitters obliged the Maritime Enforcers to tap out, 18-8, by Mercy Rule in the 4th inning. Richard Rubio hit 2 home runs, as he and Anthony “Willie Boa” Bernard scored 3 runs each, while Emma Salquist, Tamara Ramsey and Robert Ferguson scored 2 runs apiece for Digi. Earl Vernon, Lupito Acosta, Risa Elliott and Trenton Marin each scored a run off Clarissa Clarke’s pitching. Keeran Young led the Maritime attack with 3 runs, Aaliyah Pilgrim scored twice, and Christian Denfield, Ryan Silva and Justin Gillett scored a run each.
On Sunday afternoon, the Kollectaz taxed Belize Bank, 22-19, led by Devon Banner hammering out 4 runs off Evita Marin’s pitching. Jamal Matute, Vondalee Wade, Anthony Coleman and Omari Neal each scored 3 runs, while starting pitcher Lean Wagner scored 2 runs. Relief pitcher Ron Nicholson, Brian Neal, Kenreen Gillett and Genesis Ramirez scored a run each. Strodni Cassasola hit a home run, as he led the bankers with 5 runs. Imer Codova, Marcely Salam and Terrence Salam scored 3 runs each, Taalib Smith also hit a homer, as he and Jose Varela scored 2 runs apiece, and Evita Marin crossed the plate once.
The HRCU Eagles enjoyed their 3rd win, 15-8, over the BEL Powersockets by Mercy Rule in the top of the 5th inning on Sunday evening. Darren Leal hit a home run, as he and Aleesha Taylor led the Eagles, scoring 3 runs each; while Dylan Moguel, Rashid Bethran and Audrey Castellanos each scored twice. Reynaldo Duran, Garrick Ellis and Sherlett Barrow scored a run apiece. BEL’s Jefferson Spencer scored 2 runs, while Joanna Louriano, Stephen Woodye, Joseph Enriquez, Tiffany Gongora, Sheryn Nuñez and Ruben Tulcey scored a run each.
