BELIZE CITY, Sat. March 7, 2020– Funeral services were held this morning at Holy Redeemer Cathedral in Belize City for James Matthew Dinnachie “Jim” Murphy, a long-time resident of Southern Foreshore who passed at the age of 92. He was born on November 9, 1927, and died on March 3, 2020.

The Celebrant was Fr. Brian Christopher, S.J., with former Bishop, Most Rev. Dorick Wright, present in the Sanctuary.

Mr. Murphy was a senior employee of the iconic Belize Estate and Produce Company (BEC) for many decades.

His Eulogy was given by Paul Rodriguez, and the Remembrance was read by Delhart Courtney.

Pallbearers were Ricardo Diaz, John Quan, David Schart, Sean Taegar, Marion Usher, and James Wolverson.

This newspaper extends sympathy to Mr. Murphy’s family and friends.
