Joeth Chyna Pratt’s strange disappearance

HeadlineJoeth Chyna Pratt’s strange disappearance

MEDINA BANK, Toledo District–Joeth Chyna Pratt, 38, a resident of Lords Bank, Ladyville, employed by Cisco Construction Company as a truck driver, has been reported missing since Tuesday, November 4.

Presently, a search party consisting of the police, elements of the Belize Defence Force, workers of CISCO Construction Company, and rangers of TIDE, is searching in the Medina Bank area of the Toledo District to find her.

However, the search has so far been fruitless.

The chief security officer of CISCO Construction told the media that at about 12:30 Tuesday afternoon, Joeth Pratt drove away in a truck from the compound in Belize City, and did not return.

That day, the company began a search for her in the Lords Bank area in Ladyville, and also in the city, but to no avail. A report was then made to the police.

After Pratt left Belize City around midday on Tuesday, November 4, she was not seen until in the evening when she was spotted by a farmer in the Medina Bank area at about 4:30 p.m., and she reportedly was in the pickup on a feeder road, just sitting, smoking a cigarette and looking through the windshield.

By the time the farmer returned, she had disappeared, and the vehicle was left bogged in the feeder road.

The farmer alerted the police in Toledo, who went to Medina Bank, where they found the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and confirmed that it was the blue Dodge pickup that Pratt had been driving, but she was nowhere to be found.

Pratt’s personal documents were scattered in the area and tracks from the bogged vehicle led towards the river, which is about six miles away.

CISCO Construction was alerted and the vehicle was recovered and taken to the company’s compound in Punta Gorda.

The search for Joeth Pratt is now being carried out in the river with boats from TIDE (Toledo Institute of Development and the Environment), which will be doing spot checks on the river and its banks, in addition to the search efforts being carried out on land by a large team.

CISCO’s chief security officer, Kevin “Cowboy” Alvarez, told local media that they are at a loss as to why Pratt was in Toledo, on a feeder road in the Medina Bank area.

Police said that they are now searching in the Golden Stream River, its surrounding area, and along log tracks.

Pratt has now been missing for 7 days, and her family and employers and friends are very worried about her.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Joeth Pratt is asked to kindly inform the nearest police station or the chief security officer of CISCO at phone number 604-2543.
Pratt is described as having fair skin, with straight hair, and is of medium build and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
