BELIZE CITY, Tues. Mar. 30, 2021– The Central Bank of Belize has announced that Ambassador Joy Grant’s tenure at the Central Bank has come to an end. According to a Central Bank of Belize press release, the Board of Directors, management, and staff of the bank wish to express thanks to Ambassador Grant for her years of service and extend best wishes to her in her future endeavors.
“Ambassador Grant expressed her appreciation for the support afforded her during her more than four-year tenure, noting special appreciation to everyone at the Central Bank,” the release stated.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Belize is appointed by the Governor-General upon the advice of the Prime Minister and serves as the CEO of the Central Bank. Recently, a new Central Bank board of directors was constituted, with Sydney Campbell, a previous Central Bank governor, being appointed Chairman of the Board.
At this time, the two Deputy Governors of the Central Bank, Kareem Michael and Marilyn Gardiner-Usher, remain on active duty.
