BELIZE CITY, Mon. Mar. 24, 2025

Kevin Herrera will be representing the Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) and the Belize Business Bureau (BBB) for a second term in the Senate.

The official announcement was made on Monday, March 24, in a press release from the BCCI which noted that Herrera had accepted the endorsement to return to the Senate.

“I am deeply honored to accept the endorsement of the BCCI and the BBB to serve a second term. Your continued trust and confidence reaffirm our shared commitment to advocating for policies that promote economic growth, investment, and a thriving private sector,” Herrera said.

The Senate is comprised of 13 members – 6 appointed by the Government, 3 appointed by the Opposition, and 4 appointed by various social partners.

Herrera will be serving in the Senate alongside Louis Wade, who will be representing the churches; Janelle Chanona, the NGO Senator, and Glenfield Dennison, who will represent the unions.

The Opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) has yet to announce its three Senate appointees. The newly appointed senators will be sworn in at the first session of the Senate meeting, on a date that will be announced later.
