Chandra Cansino, the CEO of Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), will be the new chairperson of the Social Security Board (SSB), replacing Nigeli Sosa, who has held the post since late 2021.
Cansino had served over 20 years at the SSB before becoming the CEO of the country’s national referral hospital.
The appointment follows the sudden, yet unexplained departure of Dr. Leroy Almendarez in January of this year after he had served for only five months as the SSB Chief Executive Officer.
