Sarce?o told police that they were near a machine at the edge of the pond when lightning struck, and he saw Calderon slip into the water, which is approximately 6 feet deep. The pond in which Calderon was struck is a tilapia fishpond.

Police believe that the lightning struck the machine.

Calderon was quickly retrieved from the fishpond, but while on the way to the Western Regional Hospital, he began experiencing respiratory problems.

A few minutes later, he apparently stopped breathing. At the Northern Regional Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say that they do not suspect any foul play, as there were no signs of abuse on the body.

The post-mortem performed at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital revealed that Calderon died from ?unnatural cause.?

Sarce?o was examined and released from the hospital later that evening.

Police say that several fuses for the machine were found burned.
