LPG price drops for 1st time in 6 months

GeneralLPG price drops for 1st time in 6 months

BELIZE CITY, Sat. Nov. 6, 2021 — On November 6, 2021, the price of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) will decrease by $0.02 — the second price reduction in LPG to occur for the year 2021. It has been six months since the last LPG price reduction in April.

Effective Saturday, the new wholesale LPG price will be $4.73 per gallon, while retail prices per gallon will be $6.33 in urban areas and $6.43 in rural areas. The per-pound prices will be $1.45 and $1.47 in urban and rural areas respectively. This $0.02 decrease is attributed to the decrease in acquisition price for butane gas.

Over the year, the most significant increase in Belizean LPG prices was $0.40 in January 2021. Similarly, global gas prices also underwent the largest increase to be recorded so far this year in that month —$0.37.
