Police said that sometime around 6:30 a.m., they responded to reports of a dispute in progress in Copper Bank. There, they observed Miranda bleeding profusely from what appeared to be chop wounds to the head and right hand.

Miranda was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, where he remains hospitalized in a serious but stable condition.

According to police?s initial investigations, the men were involved in a machete fight over a woman. We were told that this is an old situation between the two men. Last week, in a similar incident in Dangriga, a man stabbed his rival to death over a woman, who has a child for him, the man.

In the case of Miranda, however, the woman, in her late 50s, confirmed to police that she has both men. She explained that although Portillo is the father of her two children, she now lives with the younger man, Miranda, but still has a relationship with Portillo.

This love triangle has been happening for the last 10-11 months, she added, and so has the ongoing disputes between the men.

The chopping occurred in front of her home, said police.
