GeneralMan shot on North Creek on Christmas Day

BELIZE CITY, Tues. Dec. 29, 2020– A Belize City man identified as Elwin Pollard is lucky to be alive following a gunman’s attempt to take his life on Christmas Day.  At around 4:50 p.m., on December 25, officers attached to the Crime Investigation Branch’s Precinct Two responded to reports of a shooting on North Creek.

There, they learned that Pollard and two other men were fixing a car when they were approached by a fair-complexioned man dressed in a long-sleeved seater, long pants and a black hat, who pulled out a handgun and fired several shots at the men.

Pollard was hit in the left foot and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted to ward in a stable condition.
