BELIZE CITY, Mon. June 13, 2022

With regular season near its end except for a couple back matches, Verdes Rebels upset Sagitun Girlz at the Norman Broaster Stadium on Sunday, June 12, to claim their first victory at Week 10 of the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) 2022 Opening Season. An 18th minute goal from Mikayeli Guerra (18’) was enough to secure the 1-0 victory for Verdes Rebels over visiting Satitun Girlz.

The day before, on Saturday at the same Norman Broaster Stadium, home standing Cayo Dreamers dropped Wagiya United FC, 2-0, with a goal each from Daysi Paiz (20’) and Allyshia Bowman (23’).

Also on Saturday, it was target practice at the Ricalde Stadium where Bay City FC loaded up 19 goals on their northern counterpart Corozal United Warriors for a 19-0 slaughter. Sharing the scoring for Bay City FC were Anahie Blanco (2’, 10’, 33’, 45+’ & 68’), Darina Tzul (4’, 51’ & 60’), Aaliyah Herbert ((15’, 20’, 70’ & 90’), Alisha Terry (29’), Kaite Jones (36’, 59’, 81’ & 83’), Kennara Trapp (44’) and Shante Chacon (87’).
