SportsNational U-15 team stands tall at Cancun exhibition games
On Friday, November 19, the Belize National male U-15 basketball team traveled to Cancun, Mexico to play two exhibition games, against the Pioneros of Quintana Roo U-15 selection and Quintana Roo U-19 Elite selection. The games were played at the Kuxil Baxal Gymnasium in Cancun, Quintana Roo. The Belize delegation returned on Sunday, November 21.

In the first match, the Quintana Roo Elite U-19 selection defeated our U-15 National Team, 70-68. Our U-15 team was outplayed in the 1st quarter, and was down 10 points with a score of 24 to 14. They quickly made the adjustment, to win the 2nd and 3rd quarters, to lead 50 to 49 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The fourth quarter was evenly played; however, the Mexicans overcame the 1-point deficit, to win by 2 points. High scorers for the Belize selection were Devin Daly with 17 points, and Tariq Middleton and Daniel Sanchez with 9 points each.

Belize beat the Pioneros of Quintana Roo U-15 selection very easily by a score of 56 to 20. Tariq Middleton was the leading scorer with 17 points.

The Belize Basketball Federation (BBF) would like to thank Belize Natural Energy, the U-15 National Team’s Platinum Sponsor, who sponsored the team by making financial contributions, and parents and friends who accompanied and supported the team. We would also like to thank the Belize City Council for its contributions.
