The Nazarene High School girls repeated as the National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) softball champions, at the tournament hosted by the Toledo Community College at the Victor Sanchez Union Stadium in Punta Gorda Town on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22.

_{Jaysha Weir – Most Valuable Player}

In Game 1 on Friday afternoon, the Central regional champions – Nazarene High girls, outlasted the Northern regional champions, the Ladyville Technical High School girls, 12-10, as MVP pitcher Jaysha Weir struck out 7 batters, walked 6, and gave up 4 hits. The Nazarene diamond made 9 errors, allowing Jahvelynn Thompson, Leilani Swasey, and Latoya Cassasola to each score 2 runs, while Akeelah Gibson, Delcia Vacarro, Melina Dawson and Naire Sosa scored a run apiece for Ladyville Tech.

The Nazarene girls collected 10 hits off Naire Sosa, who also walked 10 batters. The Ladyville diamond made 4 errors, allowing Kaci Barrow to cross the plate thrice, while Helen Cassasola, Zyra Smith and Juliana Baldwin each scored twice. Cheyene Pollard, Malesha Frazer and Anete Bejerano each scored a run. 

_{Belmopan Comprehensive Flames – NSSSA 2025 Female Softball Sub-Champions}

In Game 2 on Friday evening, the Western regional champions, the Belmopan Comprehensive Flames advanced to the finals by an 8-3 win over the Southern regional champions, the Independence High School Invaders. The Invaders collected only 2 hits off pitcher Kimanna Davis, who struck out 6 batters and walked 4. The Flames’ diamond made 2 errors only, allowing only Tentisha Bradley, Kameah Torres and Caiden Pandy to score a run apiece.

The Flames collected 3 hits off Kameah Torres, who struck out 10 batters, but walked 11. The Invaders made 8 errors, allowing Wilma Chun to cross the plate thrice, while Shellange Wiltshire scored 2 runs, and Jayvia Swift, Rhea Henry and Sahira Galvez each scored a run.

In Game 3 the consolation match for 3rd place on Saturday morning, the Invaders won, 14-7, over the Ladyville girls, as Kameah Torres struck out 4 batters and walked 9. The Invaders made 4 errors, allowing Latoya Cassasola and Akeelah Gibson to each score 2 runs, while Leilani Swasey, Gabriel Cabañas and Naire Sosa each scored a run.

The Invaders collected 8 hits off Naire Sosa, who struck out 3 batters and walked 7. The Ladyville diamond made 11 errors, allowing Gaela Glenn to cross the plate thrice, while Kelanie Forman, Kameah Torres, Sophie Matias, and Bridgett Alvarado each scored twice. Tentisha Bradley, Rayanna Ferrel and Caiden Pandy each scored a run.

In Game 4, the championship final on Saturday afternoon, MVP pitcher Jaysha Weir struck out 8 batters, as she led the Nazarene girls to a 9-4 win over the Belmopan Flames. The Flames collected 3 hits off Weir, who walked 4 batters, but the Nazarene diamond made only 2 errors, and Invaders’ Michelle Garbutt scored 3 runs, while Jayvia Swift only scored once. The Nazarene girls collected 3 hits off Kimanna Davis, who struck out 6 batters, but walked 14. Helen Cassasola, MVP Jaysha Weir, Kaci Barrow, and Liyah Tezul each crossed the place twice, and Malesha Frazer scored once.

NSSSA president Francis Pascual and the NSSSA executive committee presented team trophies and individual medals to the champions, sub-champions and third place winners in the awards ceremony after the finals. Nazarene pitcher Jaysha Weir received the Most Valuable Player award.
