ORANGE WALK TOWN, Tues. Nov. 30, 2021 — The Orange Walk Football Association’s (OWFA) 1st Division Male Amateur Tournament 2021-22 Opening Season continued over the weekend with 5 games played at the Louisiana Field, one on Saturday, November 27, and four on Sunday, November 28. After two weeks of competition, two teams lead their respective groups with perfect (2-0) records, Caribbean Rum Boyz in Group A and Guinea Grass FC in Group B. (See Standings below.)

On Saturday evening, Guinea Grass FC dropped Louisiana FC, 4-0, with goals from Oswaldo Chan (1’), Brian Westby (5’) and Miguel Yco (9’ & 16’).

In the opener on Sunday, scheduled for 9:00 in the morning, it was Yo Creek La Ceiba with a 1-0 victory over Galacticos FC, courtesy of an own goal by Galacticos’ Jose Guy (OG 40’).
Game 2 of the day started at noon, and saw Progresso FC crushing San Felipe FC by a 7-1 score. Sharing the scoring for Progresso were Nestor Heredia (10’ & 48’), Tyrese Augustine (21’), Nazim Aldana (39’), Dedron Baptist (70’) and Syan Verde (83’ & 91’); while the lone goal for San Felipe came by way of an own goal by Progresso’s Enrique Castillo (OG 12’).
In game 3 on Sunday, San Jose Pumas FC shut out Carmelita FC, 2-nil, with a goal in each half, from Jain Mai (25’) and Brandon Coock (75’).

And in the nightcap game, Caribbean Rum Boyz FC prevailed, 4-1, over San Antonio FC. The Rum Boyz got a goal each from Russell Cassanova (28’), Kyle Budna (44’) and Camilo Sanchez (57’) along with an own goal from San Antonio’s Michael Rivas (OG 88’); while the goal for San Antonio was by Liam Reyes (78’).
