Patrick Rogers’ Kremandala Show Parting Shot 27-Nov-07

PoliticsPatrick Rogers’ Kremandala Show Parting Shot 27-Nov-07
Greetings KREM Radio, TV and Internet listeners at home and abroad, fellow panelists. In my last parting shot of June 12th, 2007, I stated, “Upon acceptance of the VIP Collet standard bearer endorsement, I will be in a campaign mode that may prejudice the Kremandala Show. Consequently, I would just like to go on record stating that it is out of respect for the Kremandala Show that I will be removing myself once my campaign to win the Collet constituency begins.”

I continued with, “On another note Belize, the VIP position on the ALLIANCE has been clearly spelt out for over a year now. The Alliance must go through a process that must be completed before we are in a position to accept a public announcement of the ALLIANCE. The process was detailed in five phases as follows: 1st) Financial disclosure amongst members to the Alliance is a prerequisite; 2nd) establish the structure of the Alliance; 3rd) establish the terms of the Alliance; 4th) establish the integrity of candidates to the Alliance; 5th) and finally go public with an announcement of the    Alliance.”

Today, November 27th, 2007, we must report that we at the VIP desk still have not received the financial disclosures laid out in Item 1 above as a prerequisite to further discussions. If we do not receive these disclosures, we will not form an Alliance with them, Belize. What we will do instead of the Alliance, is to call out all Wanna Bees (these are not real contenders for winning the election: these are pretenders causing confusion on the ballot) to a People’s Convention for each division that have more than one Independent Party candidates. Let us settle who will fill that alternative spot on the ballot come election day. VIP believes (as Brother Colin’s article in last Friday’s Amandala suggested) that our candidates can help clear up the confusion for the Belizean voters by eliminating the pretenders through the use of conventions.

Let us be real, Belize, if a candidate cannot win this convention, they will not win the general election. As such, the losers should commit to supporting and working with the winners of these conventions to deliver a win for the alternative Independent on the ballot. The VIP has embarked on the launching of its candidates for the various divisions we will be contesting in the general elections.

The next scheduled launch is our candidate for Toledo West – Julian Max Cho (this Sunday, December 2nd at 12:00 midday in San Antonio, followed by a meeting in Colombia at 3:00 p.m. the same day). The following weekend, Saturday December 8th, at the corner of Banak St. and Central American Blvd., starting at 3:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., the VIP will be launching myself, Patrick Rogers, as our candidate for Collet Division. On the following day, Sunday, December 9th, at the Agriculture & Trade Grounds at 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., the VIP will be launching Hubert Enriquez for Cayo South Division.

The VIP is committed to charting a New Direction for Belize. If we do not raise the bar and set our standards above where the other parties are at – we will be no different from all the rest of them and Belize will lose again. Yes, VIP is committed to an Alliance in principle; however, we will not be lowering the bar for any individual or organization just for the sake of saying we have an Alliance. Any Alliance is not necessarily better than no Alliance, Belize!

I Love You, Belize! Freedom For All, With Equal Rights And Justice!
