GeneralPost-mortem exam shows Dimas Choc, accused of affair, was chopped to death

CRISTO REY, Cayo District, Fri. Dec. 14, 2018– A post-mortem exam conducted yesterday at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital on the body of Dimas Gregorio Choc, 49, a farmer of Cristo Rey, certified the cause of his death to be “acute craneo-encephalic traumatic injuries due to multiple chop wounds to the head.”

Police say that Choc was chopped in the head and body by his irate neighbor, Filiberto Itche, a Guatemalan who is a farmer of the village, after he accused Choc of having an affair with his common-law wife.

The tragedy occurred at about 11:30 Saturday night, in Itche’s home on a farm in Cristo Rey.

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation, said that Choc and his wife were at Itche’s house, drinking with Itche and his wife, when Itche began to accuse Choc of having an affair with his, Itche’s, wife. They then became involved in an altercation, during which Choc was chopped multiple times, after which Itche escaped.

Police said that on their arrival at the farm in Cristo Rey, they saw Choc on the floor in the farmhouse, lying face-up with multiple chop wounds to his head and body, and he was already dead.

Police believe that Filiberto Itche has escaped to his home country, Guatemala.
