BELIZE CITY, Fri. Feb. 26, 2021– On Friday, February 26, 2021, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) after they received reports of a shooting on the southside of Belize City.

According to reports, around 7:45 that evening, 32-year-old Phillip Wallace, a mechanic of Reggae Street, was standing in an alleyway that intersects Kraal Road and Hynes Street when he was approached by an unknown gunman, who fired several shots at him.

Wallace was rushed to the K.H.M.H., but while receiving treatment for his wounds, he succumbed to his injuries.

Phillip Wallace has had a few encounters with the law. He was previously acquitted of murder in 2015, for the murder of Darrell Williams, Jr., and walked away from charges of attempted murder in 2009.

Police are currently investigating this recent homicide.
