The Sagitun Girlz are one game away from winning their first Premier Women’s League of Belize (PWLB) football championship, organized by the Football Federation of Belize, after they enjoyed a 2-0 win over Napoles FC at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan on Sunday evening, May 25.

Jolene Aranda (19’) and Jasha Bernardez (29’) delivered Sagitun’s winning goals.
The Sagitun Girlz had qualified by a 24-0 aggregate score over the Cayo Dreamers after they marched over the Cayo girls, 13-0, in the 2nd semifinal on May 14. Jolene Aranda’s double hat trick (2’, 24’, 35’, 41’, 43’, 61’ & 88’) led the attack. Kenya Perez (30’ & 59’) added a brace, and other goals came by Cindy Montenegro (5’), Sabrina Eiley (32’), Elizabeth Ryan (71’) and Jasha Bernardez (87’). The Sagitun girls had also won the 1st semifinal, 11-0, the week before.
The Napoles FC girls also advanced to the finals by a 3-2 aggregate score over the Jewel Fury girls. Roshany Narvaez had scored Napoles’ winning goal in the 1st semifinal, and Narvaez (45’) and Jinelle Pott (90+4’) scored for Napoles to hold Jewel Fury to a 2-2 draw in the 2nd semifinal, after Shamika Lambey (14’) and Khalydia Velasquez (55’) had given Jewel Fury a 2-1 lead.
