ORANGE WALK TOWN, Sun. Sept. 30, 2018– Samuel Castro, 25, a baker of Trial Farm, Orange Walk District, died after he was shot in a drive-by shooting on Muffles Street at about 12:30 this morning. Castro was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital, where he died while doctors were trying to treat his injuries.

Information we’ve received is that Castro and a friend were walking on Muffles Street when two men on a motorcycle rode by, and one of them fired at Castro and his friend, whose name was not revealed, several times before the motorcycle sped away.

Castro was struck in his back, arm and leg.

Castro’s companion was also hit. Both men were rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital, where Castro’s friend, who was wounded in his abdomen, was admitted in a serious condition.

Police are looking for two men. It is not yet known if Castro was the target of the shooting, and at this point the motive for the shooting is not known.
