Youth & Female Cup 2017 Tournament in Belmopan
BELMOPAN, Mon. May 22, 2017–Over the past weekend, the Isidoro Beaton Stadium was once again the venue for football action in the Belmopan Football Association’s Simeon Lopez Kids, Youth and Female Cup 2017 Tournament, as first round semifinal games were held on Saturday and Sunday in all categories.
First round semifinals
In the opener on Saturday, May 20, (U-13) YWAM Valencia won, 2-0, over Police Cadets, with goals from Laddi Gillett (3’) and Jorgar Cassasola (25’). In game 2, (U-13) it was Spanish Lookout also with a 2-0 victory over Mountain View Revolution, courtesy of goals by Randy Elias (3’) and Derrick Guerra (43’). Game 3 (U-17 Females) saw San Martin Medina Girls playing to a 1-1 draw with BMP Compre Flames. Ashley Martinez (15’) struck first for Compre Flames, but Cindy Cruz (45’) got the equalizer for Medina Girls. (N.B. The other U-17 Female first round semifinal was played the previous Saturday, May 13, when Valley of Peace Girls and Armenia Girls drew, 3-3.)
The semifinal game 1 on Sunday, May 21, was a blowout, as (U-15) Mountaiin View Revolution rolled over Armenia FC, 7-nil, with goals from Tyrique Sanchez (8’), Jacce Hope (16’), Ricardo Galdamez (19’ & 23’), Jahmani Hope (46’), Kelvin Gordon (49’) and Isaac Castillo (50’). In game 2, (U-15) Piccini Rising Star got the 1-0 win over Las Flores Wild Cats on a goal by Angel Sanchez (21’). Game 3 (U-17) saw Bandits with a 3-1 win over San Martin Medina. Shaking the net for Bandits were Wilfredo Galvez (30’ & 60’) and Edwin Ramos (38’), while San Martin’s only goal was by Isaiah Reyes (18’). And in game 4, (U-17) Mountain View Revolution clipped Piccini Rising Star, 1-nil, on a goal by Tahj Reid (61’).
Second round semifinals
The decisive second round of the semifinals take place this coming weekend at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium:
