Sports highlights from Punta Gorda

The first games of the championship for the youth football tournaments got under way yesterday, Sunday, at the Victor Sanchez Union Field.

In the U-15 game, Julian Cho defeated Rookie Strikers by a score of 13 to 3.

In the U-17 game, Columbia defeated Toledo United by a score of 3 to 1.

The third place games for these tournaments have been cancelled.

Game 2 of the championship (for both U-15 and U-17) will be played next weekend.

The Normalizing Committee expresses gratitude to the Football Federation of Belize and Brother (Idemuei) Moss for that fruitful educational session with team representatives on Saturday.

Male and female teams are now invited to register for the upcoming senior tournament which is expected to kick off in November.

Domino Tournament

On Friday, Police handcuffed Green Fence, 100 to 94.

On Saturday, Cemetery buried Unity, 100 to 78.

And on Sunday, Hard Knocks schooled Cattle Landing, 100 to 83.
