SPOTLIGHT – New Featured Artist

FeaturesSPOTLIGHT - New Featured Artist
A young man with a solid and captivating singing voice is 18-year-old Wilson Grinage. This about to be high school graduate unexpectedly wows everyone with his vocals and very humble personality. He has a song that is played on E-Jay’s LOVE JAM SESSION on Krem Radio, that no one would have suspected it was he who was belting out the R&B tunes like that. The song is called “What We Once Had.”

Even I was surprised and couldn’t believe he was the person making the ladies sing along to his music on the radio and loving his voice. But this 18-year-old has much history for being so young.

He explains that he has been singing in the Ladyville Baptist Church since he was age 6 during “Sharing Time” at the church. Eventually he joined the National Belize Youth Choir and also began participating in numerous competitions like the NOPCAN Karaoke Competition that he won 1st place for in the year 2000. He also won the most promising male vocalist of the year in the Festival of Arts in 2001 but afterwards took some time off to concentrate on school keeping his love for music not far out of mind or out of heart.

He came back on the scene in 2008 with the R&B song on the radio called “What We Once Had” and has a few more songs recorded that are as catchy and well done as “What We Once Had”. He says his inspiration for writing music comes from life and love, his friends’ experiences and things that he has been through himself. Some people that he looks up to in the music business are, as he calls them, the 3 divas, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, and on the male end its Usher.

Expect big moves from Wilson Grinage. He is definitely a Belizean artist to look out for.
