Stann Creek FA 1st Division Amateur semifinal playoff results; finals this Sunday

DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Sun. Dec. 16, 2018– The best-of-two games semifinal playoffs in the Stann Creek Football Association (SCFA) 1st Division Amateur September Season were completed over the past weekend, with the 1stt leg games being played on Friday night, and the 2nd leg on Sunday at the Carl Ramos Stadium.

In game 1 on Friday, December 14, Pomona Warriors out-gunned Pomona Impacts, 4-3, with goals from Orlando Acosta (41’), Harrison Roches, Sr. (65’), Rayshawn Middleton (70’) and Timothy Estero (87’); while Pomona Impacts got 2 goals from Raymond Peters (5’ & 74’) and the other from Leonardo Valdez (9’). Game 2 saw Hopkins Ibayani with the 3-2 win over Silk Grass SG Ballers. Norman Nunez struck for all 3 goals for Hopkins (7’, 59’ & 66’), while Silk Grass got a goal each from Nigel Elijio (19’) and Kenyon Lewis (88’).

The same teams clashed in the 2nd leg of the semifinals on Sunday. In game 2, Hopkins Ibayani crushed Silk Grass SG Ballers, 4-0, with 3 goals from Wayne Ford (4’, 29’ and 61’) and the other from Mark Petillo (57’). Hopkins was thus convincing aggregate 7-2 series winners. In game 2, Pomona Impacts turned the tables on Pomona Warriors, after the Warriors had taken game 1 by a 4-3 margin. On Sunday, it was Pomona Impacts with the 2-0 win over the Warriors, with a goal apiece from Leonardo Valdez (30’ & Kevin Lino (61’).  Pomona Impacts are therefore aggregate semifinals winners by a 5-4 margin.

The Finals are now set for this Sunday at the Carl Ramos Stadium:

3:30 p.m. – (Third Place) Silk Grass SG Ballers vs Pomona Warriors
5:30 p.m. – (Championship) Hopkins Ibayani vs Pomona Impacts
