Toddler, 2, missing 5 days – remains eaten by vultures

GeneralToddler, 2, missing 5 days - remains eaten by vultures

According to police, the child?s mother, Amelia Coy, 28, reported to them that sometime around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, she and her husband, along with four of their other children, went to a nearby creek on the family residence.

The mother apparently had left the toddler in the care of his uncle that day. When they returned from the creek, she was informed that the child was not there. The uncle said that he thought that the child was, in fact, with his parents.

The child apparently was not wearing clothes that day, said police, as there were no clothes found next to his remains.

The toddler, said police, was last seen in the northern part of the village, not too far from the family residence. After the intense search, however, the body of the child was found in the opposite direction from where he was said to have been seen the day he went missing.

Police said they found his remains about 2.3 kilometers away in the southern part of Sunday Wood, near the village of Corazon.

Police said they suspect that the toddler may have been killed, because they believe there is no way a 2 ?-year-old child could have walked the distance, almost a mile and a half in the bush, by himself.

Adding more to that suspicion, there is no road in the area where the child was last seen, only bush.
