UB BLACK JAGUARS VISITS BELIZE BANK BULLDOGS TONIGHT IN GAME 1 OF THEIR BEST OF 3 SEMI?S

SportsUB BLACK JAGUARS VISITS BELIZE BANK BULLDOGS TONIGHT IN GAME 1 OF THEIR BEST OF 3 SEMI?S

The Black Jaguars are arguably the biggest team in the league, featuring Belize?s tallest player, Claude ?Too Tall? Jones, along with Kirk ?Shabba? Smith, Jeff Clifton, Darren Bovell and company. They will certainly want to capitalize on their size, which mean that they will want the game to be a low-scoring half court, grind-out type of game. As a team they averaged only 75 points per game .

On the flip side of the coin, the Bulldogs, who are the league?s best offensive team, averaging 83.2 points per game, would prefer that the game be an up-tempo, fast-breaking type of game. They are cognizant of the fact that they are at their best when they play this style of game, and that not many teams in the league are able to keep up with them when they play their style of game.

Besides the match-up on the court, the sidelines? face-off between national team head coach, Kevin Siroki, and Bulldogs? head coach, Victor Robateau, will be interesting since it will be the latter?s first post-season appearance coaching at the semi-pro level.

The Jaguars are a very hungry bunch with tremendous pride and will certainly be looking to avenge two regular season losses suffered at the hands of the Bulldogs – 67-61 on the road, and 76-69 at home. Nothing would be more gratifying to the Jaguars than to steal one on the road and close out the series at home next Friday night in Belmopan.

Meanwhile the Bulldogs appear to be a team determined and focused, led by their savvy and experienced backcourt combo of Aubrey Lopez and Bart Sanchez. These two are fully aware of the importance of this game. They do not want to go to Belmopan down one, with their backs against the wall.
