BELIZE CITY, Mon. Nov. 29, 2021 — On the day following the execution of Indian businessman Anil Asnaney on Baymen Avenue last Friday, the United Democratic Party released a statement in which the party expressed outrage at the recent gruesome murders seen across the country. The UDP further stated in the release that the government is failing to address the alarming situation and repeated their call for the resignation of Home Affairs Minister, Kareem Musa, and the CEO in his ministry, Kevin Arthurs.

In the release, the UDP highlighted the six murders which took place since their last press conference and asserted that the Home Affairs Minister has been a “dismal failure in formulating or implementing any plan or strategy to address crime.” The party further accused the Prime Minister of continuing “to ignore the matter”.

The party additionally called on all Belizeans to now demonstrate their “dissatisfaction with the government’s complete disregard for the safety of our citizens and communities.”
