It is the football extravaganza of the new year, WE RUN YAWD football tournament, straight outa Hattieville!
On Sunday, March 2, they kicked it off with 3 matches, 6 teams, each team carrying 7 players on the pitch to battle and find out WHO RUN YAWD.
Match 1 ended with Foster Drive Strikers having a 2-goal advantage against G-Elites, with none other than Enoch “Lee Monsta” Rhaburn getting away with both goals.
Match 2 ended with Homeboys FC also having a 2-goal advantage as they faced Rockville FC, with that game ending at 3-1 when the final whistle blew. The goal scorers in that spectacular match-up were LeBron Robinson, Flayden Carter and Raymond Bowen for the win, while Rockville’s Jessie James managed to find the back of the
net.
Kicking off Match 3 was Lifestyle FC and Illville FC, with Lifestyle edging Illville, 3 goals to 2. It was the father/son duo for the days, starring Brandon Rogers, Sr. striking once for Lifestyle, and his son, Brandon Rogers, Jr. leaving the goalkeeper for Illville confused twice in that game. Despite the massive duo, there was no counting out for Illville until the final whistle, none other than Shemar Waight pulling up behind the penalty spot to perform a beautiful finish, and Francis “Franco” Andrews scoring goal #2 for Illville.
Moving into Match Week #2, games will be kicking off on Friday March 7, where Lifestyle FC will be colliding with Rockville FC; Illville FC rallies against tough competitors, G-Elites for Match 2; and to wrap up the Friday night, Homeboys FC takes on their neighbors, Foster Drive Strikers.
Bring your family and come make some noise and have some fun, as we all sit on the edge of our seats to find out WHO RUN YAWD!
