The San Ignacio & Santa Elena Basketball Association (SSBA) continued its 17th annual basketball tournament at the Victor Galvez Stadium in San Ignacio Town this past weekend. Below are the scores from the games played this past weekend.

Friday, November 10

Under-11 MALE: Game 1 – St. Martin’s Credit Union won, 14-12, over UNDP. Scorers: St. Martin’s – Jemma Menjivar 8 pts, Isaac Ayuso 4 pts, Henry Jemmott 2 pts; UNDP – Davion Rudon 8 pts, Kenya Gillett 4 pts.

Under-19 MALE: Game 2 – Belmopan Trojans won, 39-37, over Sacred Heart College. Scorers: BMP Trojans – Amare Jones 13 pts, Jackson Zhoa 10 pts; S.C. College – Tayshaun Haylock 15 pts, Xavi Trujillo 7 pts, Floyd Gillett 6 pts.

Under-19 MALE: Game 3 – Mayan Man won, 54-43, over Young Rooks. Scorers: Mayan Man – Jason Orozco 15 pts, Michael Caceres 14 pts, Harlem Norales 9 pts; Young Rooks – Zoren Smith 14 pts, Eliel “Bino” Landero 8 pts, Kishawn Usher 6 pts.

OVER-35: Game 4 – BVO Masters won, 39-23, over Belmopan. Scorers: BVO Masters – Roberto Castellanos 13 pts, David Reynolds 11 pts, Gianni Sierra 6 pts; Belmopan – Robert “Sample” Allen, Fred Banks 7 pts.

SENIORS: Game 5 – Alphas won, 44-43, over Invaders. Scorers: Alphas – Dane Bradley 16 pts, Christian Rodriguez 8 pts, Chris Hulse 8 pts; Ajay Grant 13 pts, Justin Ford 7 pts, Orson Lawrence 7 pts.

SENIORS: Game 6 – Belmopan Thunder won, 63-59, over Venom. Scorers: Bmp Thunder – Brandon Flowers 22 pts, Jayden Lopez 22 pts, Owen “Beso” Lorenzo 12 pts; Venom – Allizair Rhaburn 15 pts, Ryan “Ratta” Duran 15 pts, Joel Montejo 13 pts.

Sunday, November 12

Under-8 FEMALE: Game 1 – Shabla Events 8:8 OB’s OJ, tie game. Scorers: Shabla Events – Mariah Chi 8 pts; OB’s OJ – Jazirah Sabido 8 pts.

Under-8 MALE: Game 2 – The Burnz won, 17-6, over BECOL. Scorers: The Burnz – Zane Lawrence 10 pts, Jai Awe 7 pts; BECOL – Trevor Lennen 4 pts, Jace Jiron 2 pts.

OVER-35: Game 3 – Olk Skool Squad won, 39-35, over Miss N Ketch. Scorers: Old Skool Squad – Martevious Adams 13 pts, Douglas Penland 7 pts, Ivan Flowers 6 pts; Miss N Ketch – Chris Rodriguez 8 pts, Alden Coleman 6 pts, Dorian “Cheezy” Jones 6 pts.

Below are the standings with 1 week of regular season games remaining. Every team plays 4 regular season games. All teams advance to the playoffs. For the senior division, the 5th seed in Group 1 will play the 4th seeded team in Group 2 in a 1-game Play-in Match to determine who will advance to the playoffs, if both teams finish the regular season with the same record. If not, the last place seeded team with the best record will advance to the playoffs.
