Emmerson Talbert, 25, shot dead in friend’s house

His assailant reportedly entered through the front door and shot Talbert once

BELIZE CITY, Mon. July 9, 2018– Around midnight, 25-year-old Emmerson Talbert was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound in the neck. Later, around 10:00 this morning, he succumbed to his injuries.

Talbert, who is a resident of #67 Racecourse Street, was at a friend’s house on #33 Cemetery Lane playing video games when a man armed with a gun entered the house through the front door and fired one shot in his direction.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, even though Talbert was in another person’s house, he was still the intended target. Cowo said that the police have a theory of what led to the shooting, and they are gathering information to flesh this out, but cannot reveal the details.

However, at this time, they do not have any definite suspects or motive for the murder.
