Two women, 16 and 20, of Orange Walk have been released on separate bail in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court today, on charges of grievous harm and threatening words. The girl, a minor, 16, was released on a bail of $3,000 and ordered to return to court on September 23 on the charge of grievous harm, and Corina Panagua, 20, was offered a bail of $1,500 on charges of threatening words and abusive language, and also ordered to return to court on Monday, September 23.

Aresteo Cowo, 60, of Orange Walk Town, told police that about 6:45 on Saturday evening, he was at home when the two women, who were intoxicated, came to his house and started an altercation with him.

When he tried to stop them, one of the women pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the upper chest, and then began to verbally abuse and threaten him.

Police were called, and they arrested the women.

Cowo was taken to the Orange Walk Hospital, where he was treated and later released.
