He represented Belize in Track & Field from 1997 to 2011. During those years, Jayson competed in several international competitions, such as, Central American Games, Central American & Caribbean Games, the Commonwealth Games, the PanAmerican Games, as well as the World Track & Field Championships. Jayson is currently a successful Financial Advisor of his OlympicStar Financial Group in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Mentor to several current and former pro athletes. He is currently developing an Olympic Development Program geared towards preparing athletes for world class competitions in various Olympic disciplines. Jayson hopes to kick off the program in the Fall 2018, with his eyes set on Summer Olympic Games of 2020; ensuring that Belize sends its largest delegation in history to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Jayson will arrive in Belize on Friday, March 23, 2018 on United Airlines Flight #1569 at 1:34 p.m., on his way to Placencia to celebrate his mom’s (Shereda Jones) 65th birthday! He is travelling from Coral Springs, Florida. He will be travelling with his 2 sons, Joshua and Jeremiah, and his girlfriend, Dr. Jenell Davis, and her daughters, Jalilah, and Savannah.

Also arriving with Jayson will be his sister/manager, Jacque Pitts, and her family, husband, Simon Pitts, Jr., an accomplished musician and owner of the band, “Perfekt Blend” from Woodbridge, VA, along with their 2 daughters, Naomi and Serenity.

This is a double historic occasion for Jayson and his parents, as this will be the first time in 28 years since the passing of Jayson’s paternal grandfather, Eric Jones, Sr., retired Acting Commissioner of Police, that the family will be gathered together on Belize soil!

Belize Welcomes 2X Olympian, Jayson Jones!

(NOTE:  Interested reporters will need to meet Jayson at PGIAP, because he will be boarding a bus to go to Placencia directly from the airport. He returns to the US on Monday, traveling from Placencia directly to PGIAP.)
