4 brothers charged for chopping 6 men

Crime4 brothers charged for chopping 6 men

After chopping six men who allegedly were hurling rocks at their house in Cristo Rey, Corozal, four brothers were arrested and charged with wounding and dangerous harm in the Corozal Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Shayan Che was charged with wounding and dangerous harm; Luis and Guadencio Che were charged with wounding; and Mirello Che was charged with dangerous harm and deadly means of harm.

Two of the brothers were offered bail of $4,000 each, and the other two brothers were offered bail of $6,000 each. They were able to meet the bail and were ordered to return to court on November 22. They were further ordered to report to the Corozal Police Station every Monday, as a condition of their bail.

Guadencio Che, Sr., the father of the men, told police that about 9:00 on Saturday night, he was at home with his family when some men began making noise on the bleachers in the park that was across from his house in Cristo Rey.

He went over to tell them to stop, and they began to curse him, and followed him home and began to stone his house with rocks. His sons, armed with machetes, then ran out of the house and chopped the six men.

As a result, one of the victims, Carlos Lizarraga, who was chopped on the head, was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition, and is presently fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit.

The six men who were attacked are all from the same village.
