Deon McCaulay, Bernard Linarez to try out for MLS team Chivas USA

SportsDeon McCaulay, Bernard Linarez to try out for MLS team Chivas USA

On Wednesday of last week Deon McCaulay and Bernard Linarez left for Carson City, California, to enter training camp and trials for the Major League Soccer team, Club Deportivo Chivas USA, at the Home Depot Center. According to both McCaulay and Linarez, the connection was made initially by former Belize national coach, Ian Mork.

McCaulay and Linarez both played on the national U-21 selection that was coached by Ian Mork. They are young, but are considered as seasoned veterans based on their performances and accomplishments over the years.

McCaulay won his first semipro championship with FC Belize in the recently concluded RFG Insurance Cup tournament. Linarez had won a title with Sagitun in 2003, a second with the Placencia Pirates in 2004 and almost won his third with Wagiya FC.

Amandala and Belize on a whole certainly wish them the best of luck.
