Raymond Moralez, 22, charged in murder of Floyd “Cinco-Seis” Gladden, Jr.

GeneralRaymond Moralez, 22, charged in murder of Floyd “Cinco-Seis” Gladden, Jr.
This morning a second person was charged in connection with the murder of Floyd “Cinco-Seis” Gladden, Jr., which occurred yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, September 4, sometime around 3:00 while he was cleaning a yard at #16 Warrie Street.

Raymond Moralez, 22, a resident of Warrie Street, appeared in Belize City Magistrate’s Court #1 before the Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb-McKenzie. He was charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Moralez was not offered bail and was hence remanded to the Hattieville Prison until his next court date, scheduled for the next eight days, on Friday, September 14.

The charge brought against Moralez will also be brought against a minor, 17, also of a Warrie Street address, who already was charged with Gladden’s murder yesterday in the Family Court.

Gladden, 22, a resident of Zericote Street, is the nephew of George “Junie Balls” McKenzie, 33, who was shot to death last week Monday night, August 27, sometime after 10:00 p.m. Gladden’s death comes only three days after the burial of his uncle and eight days after McKenzie’s murder.

The murder is believed to be one of seven gang-related shootings that have occurred in the city lately, said police, and was the first of two murders for that Tuesday.

Police said that on Tuesday, when they responded to reports of a shooting, they found Gladden lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the left side of the body. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the report, police quickly detained the minor whom they believe to be responsible for the shooting.

A post-mortem showed that Gladden was shot four times. According to police, a masked gunman rode up on a bicycle and fired at Gladden.

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for tomorrow, Friday. At 1:00 p.m. The body will lie in state, for funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Assembly of God Church on Freetown Road.

Gladden leaves behind his parents, Floyd “Seis” Gladden, Sr., and Jacqueline Crawford; his four brothers, Dennis and Kareem in Belize City and Randy and Ryan in New York, and his two sisters, Karen and Melonie Gladden.
